Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the [caffeine] is so delightful...
These
photos were taken on a recent day when it snowed here in New York for
an uninterrupted eight hours. Yes, it’s gorgeous from under the covers of a warm,
cozy bed, curled up in front of the fire with a book, or nestled in front of
the television… it’s even pretty for the first five-ten minutes of being
outside. But after those first few moments of snowy bliss as you watch the
entire city being tucked into a white blanket? That bit is rough.
Nonetheless, my friend Dakota and I took the opportunity to frolic about a strangely desolate Washington Square Park mid-moring.
Warming up with a cozy brunch at Prune on the Lower East Side.
Perhaps most importantly, it's important to stay warm with the hottest beverage in town: Stumptown's hot chocolate on 8th & Macdougal (location is key as the Ace Hotel location can't seem to master the crucial ratio of sweet to bitter.)
City Bakery on 18th/5th also offers a hot chocolate that could potentially change your life. In fact, I'm pretty sure they just melt down Hersey bars and pour it into cups.
Stay inside kids.
