Azzaro is as of now an unknown brand and based on their fall/winter 2010-2011 show I'm not expecting it to go very far. The clothes were all black with a few bits of white scattered throughout the show. Overall, there were classic silhouettes with the exception of a a jumpsuit or two. There weren't any statement pieces and the only thing that came close was a collar with an avante-gard-for-the-masses feel to it with a large pleated bow coming off one side of the collar.
The collection was composed mostly of dresses and skirts all of which were classic with a slightly borderline trendy-ness to them. I never got a clear picture of who the target audience was for the collection; one moment there was a tight little dress with a giant bow on the bottom and another there were completely shapeless mother-of-the-bride longer dresses fit for a funeral. However most of the pieces could easily become younger with a few quick nip and tucks.
While the looks were clearly related there was no story line or general angle to draw from. There was almost no shape, and some weird bikini top like bows going on that were more confusing than anything else and didn't fit the models properly. Some sort of bermuda shorts/capri monstrosity was happening that I really hope snuck down the runway before the model got a chance to change into her proper full look. One thing I did like about the collection however, was the mirror in the back of the runway so that you could see the back and front of the look at the same time.
