NAHM

Nary Manivong and Ally HIlfiger (yes, That Hilfiger) have started a clothing line off which was launched at Milk Studios last season. The whole line is based around the idea of a shirt dress. Clearly most of the pieces are actual shirt dresses, but also pieces that can be easily worn with them effortlessly while hinting at cool and sophisticated, much like Hilfiger herself (who has come a long way since her day's of being featured on MTV's 'Rich Girls' back in 2003.)
The brand so far has little industry credibility other than for the obvious family connections. I've heard those are both a blessing and a curse. Although I would assume that in fashion the scale would lean much heavier on the former. Maybe its left her with a bit of a nose stuck in the air "This is who I am. I have a supportive Father. I'm talented. He's talented. It's in my blood." Connections will take you a long way but ant sort of entitlement when first starting out in fashion should be crushed. However, in terms of expanding the brand she hasn't been doing much, so maybe it's just an attempt at getting her name back out there in something other than the photo credits of Harper's Bazaar.
