Akris - fall 2010:

Akris's new collection is absolutely true to his aesthetic from his pre-fall collection. All in all, it was very elegant but a bit too much '90s minimalism for me. There were some military inspired/flight attendants in leather with their super high but tiny collars and all. Oh and was it just me or did the first look strongly resemble the draped and knotted Burberry trenches from last season?
There was a lot of outer wear as well as bags. Bags were sent down the runway with every piece - possibly over doing it a little although some seemed to tie the outfits together perfectly. Mostly work wear with a few date night dresses here and there.
Legs always covered with pants or tights and plum colored ankle boots, to get you through those burning cold winter days. One of the best look was Chanel Iman in a lemon yellow pant suit (nothing I'd ever wear but it looked kind of amazing against her skin tone). My absolute favorite piece(s) however were the gorgeous dresses and suit that had bejeweled shoulders and transparent implants in the upper sleeve area. It was something so simple but yet like nothing I had ever seen before, which is what most designers strive for the consumer to see. I'm quite the sucker for contrasts and transparent fabrics.
